Results Are Estimates

Last updated: October 21, 2026.

ChainSprocketCalc results are for planning and information only. They are based on standard formulas and published data, but real chains, sprockets and vehicles vary. A calculated link count, gear ratio, speed or wear figure is not a guarantee of fit, performance or service life.

Verify Before You Buy or Fit

  • Check chain and sprocket choices against the manufacturer's data and your vehicle or machine manual.
  • Confirm the link count by laying the chain out or testing it on the drive before cutting or riveting.
  • Follow the manufacturer's wear limit and replacement guidance where it differs from ours.

Safety-Critical Use

A failed chain drive can cause injury or damage. For safety-critical, lifting, commercial or high-load applications, have a qualified engineer specify and approve the drive. This site is not engineering certification and does not replace professional judgment.
